Last night we spent family night opening our Valentines to each other. We had made boxes a couple weeks ago and have been putting love notes in them. It was great to see the nice things that the kids had to say about each other. They really do love each other, as much as their behavior would indicate otherwise, sometimes.
This morning, Liam got up at 6:30, packed lunches, got jackets and backpacks ready, and used some M&M's he had to make a trail to the backpacks. So cute! I think it was meant as a Valentines gift to the girls, but it was great for me too!
I mentioned a wonderful Valentine gift from Travis a couple weeks ago. While my greatest gift is he himself. He is so amazing. He listens, always. Even though he has been listening to people all day. Even though I am quite often really negative. Even when I am babbling just because I haven't seen another human all day (that isn't miniature). He is selfless and spoils me rotten everyday.
So, it shouldn't have been much of a surprise when he emailed me two weeks ago and said, "We are getting our tax money soon, you are going to use it to go to Hawaii. Check flights, this is not a suggestion." Well, I found and bought a ticket that night. So I am going to Maui for a week! Travis got a week off work to be with the kids. I am packing a swimsuit and some flip flops and hoping a 'plane for a week of fun with my friend Kate (who lives there). Yup, spoiled ROTTEN. Also, he is almost as excited for me as I am. What a guy.
Did you really expect the post to NOT be sentimental today? It IS Valentines Day!!!
