I was trying to decide how to break up my trip into separate blog posts (top ten, journal). I decided to just go chronological-day by day.
At the airport by 6:00 a.m our time, I was traveling for 12 hours and quite exhausted when arriving in Maui. But when I felt the warm air and saw my girls there to meet me, I forgot about being tired (at least for a bit).
I almost look pained in this picture, but that is pure excitement, be sure. Kate and Kai'a brought me a gorgeous lei and cute sign! Here is little Kai'a. She is always smiling like this. She is such a doll and was so good to have around. Whenever I was missing my kids she would give me snuggles and giggle with me.
We went straight from the airport to a local restaurant Da Kitchen. I will spare you food descriptions. Just know we are really well, and I loved everything I ate. Pork pot stickers, and Teryaki beef.
I was instantly in love with Maui. From the palm trees, to the flowers, to the ocean, even the wind. I don't like wind usually, but this reminded me of the wind coming off the mountains in Orem at night. Reminded me of Grandma's house in the summer. Nostalgic and relaxing.
Super early bedtime.
Eating fried Hawaiian food with Kai'a.

Oooh...! I get to re-live it again! Good thinking. I trust you will edit some parts of your stay wisely! Ha ha! I still feel like we didn't do enough; and wouldn't you know, Paia endured two scorchingly hot days after you left. Figures.
