We have NEVER had a pet before. I think fish are kind of pointless. But we had fun shopping for them, and letting the kids each pick one out. They also had fun naming them, (Big Black, Puff, and Puffy).
This morning Liam came in and said, "Puffy is stuck at the top of the tank." Well, Puffy had gone the way of all the world. We had warned the kids that this may be the outcome, they weren't too upset. We had little funeral anyway. They preferred to bury it rather than flush it.
I love Travis's sentiment at the bottom. That is all that could be said about her.

HaHa! Maybe not so funny, but I think most of us have been there. Steve bought Tyler some fish once, 3 of them and one was a chinese Fighting fish. I tried to tell him it would eat the other fish and it did. I love the 'Kicked the Bucket' title!
how ironic we were doing the same thing this weekend! we got to flush ours though.
I am laughing out loud right now! Too funny! God bless Puffy!!
We're keeping our fingers crossed for Big Black and Puff.
Our kids would love some fish, but so would Mason.
These life-lessons are so invaluable! May Puffy swim on into the eternities!
My daughter, who is now four, STILL remembers flushing our fish from, like, a year and a half ago. I think it ended up being more traumatic than we intended.
Thanks to Travis for a good laugh. His obituary was classic.
My law for animals is to NOT have any that can't basically feed themselves (ie. cats -- they scratch your leg if dinner is late.)
My favorite part is the "Christian" fish on the bottom of the stone. I asked Travis if it meant that Puffy was Christina or the she was a fish. He said, "both".
