The title of the post refers less to the fact that Liam was such a porker as a baby and more about that when I brought him home, I was bringing home a real prize.
Liam is hard to get to know. It takes some effort to get through to his personality. A lot of people never connect with him. But let me tell you, he sure is a great kid.
Liam is very calm. Sandwiched between two drama queens we are always grateful for his calm presence. He never makes a fuss about things. If there is cause to be disappointed, he just goes with it.
Liam is a lot of fun. He is silly and funny and loves to make us laugh.
Liam is loving. He loves his sisters so much and often tells them so. I remember when he was months old and Zoe was doing something loud, Liam looked over at her with a look that said, "she is so cool", and he still feels the same. He has loved being with Lydia from the beginning. They would play for hours in their room together. Things are only now starting to change, because he has Legos to protect from her. The other day he told me, "Mom, you are my favorite person in the whole world, because you are so beautiful". Who doesn't want a fan like that around?
He is a great snuggler. Sad will be the day when he is too big to cuddle with his mommy.
He has a spiritual sensitivity. On our trip back from Idaho last time, we had a miracle. I won't go into detail but I remember explaining what had just happened to the kids. Liam got a look on his face and I could tell that he was feeling the Spirit strongly. That was so special for me to see. He also loves to bear his testimony. It is one of the few times he has a lot to say.
He is passionate. When he loves something, he doesn't think about much else. Right now, he loves Legos and that is pretty much all he talks, thinks, and does.
Liam is vegetarian. For the last 2 years, perhaps, he has refrained from eating meat. I am sure he has some noble animal rights reason for it.
Liam is observant. He notices things and remembers them. He can, in detail, relate something he saw once.
When Liam was born, it took him awhile to get use to the world. He had colic, and was a difficult baby. I put the picture in the slideshow of him screaming because it typified the first couple years of his life. As unhappy as he was then, is as happy as he is now. He adds to our family a very essential element. As confident as Zoe is, she usually always wants Liam around.
We love our birthday boy!

I love this post! Such an awesome display of your thoughts and love as Liam's mom!
Some of those pictures are so beautiful that it makes me cry. He is a beautiful human. His intensity isn't external like his sisters', but he has it. It's in those blue eyes when he looks at you. How grateful I am to know this boy. I love him.
