We had an amazing morning. Our ward (church congregation) was asked to go to the vineyard owned by the church to harvest grapes. We are asked several times per year to maintain the vineyard. This was my first opportunity to go. We had a babysitter offer to babysit for free so we could go together. It was hot, sticky, dirty hard work, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Working together on a really big project with many people (over 75) who are all happy and helpful, made it worth it. Of course Travis and I worked side by side the whole time and had a blast talking and laughing.
Although many here in California will disagree that there is anything poetic about working in the vineyard, our experience today was quite sweet.

What a cool experience and a great way to serve...and a beautiful landscape for a date. Here in OK we like to hand out free hotdogs from the Institute building on game days- and that is much appreciated by all droves of Sooner fans!
Very cool. I know Todd has fond memories of working in the peanut butter factory.
That is so cool that you and Travis did that. How nice of your friend to babysit.
Good for you guys! It would be interesting to compile a list of all that kind of church service done by family: peanut butter for Todd; apples, peaches, oranges for me and your dad; what else? Mom S
