Trip post 1: July 4th!

While I am posting about our trip I will dispense with the cliche titles.

We traveled to Rexburg the night of the 3rd where we got to see both of my older sisters and their families. One of the things we did last year that was a total HIT was our family 5K. Jill and Will organized it (complete with very desirable prizes) and headed it up again this year.
It was so fun! We ran around Smith park, which is also were the parade floats are lining up, so there is plenty to look at. I "ran" with Lydia and she completed the whole race! It is so great to have everyone there to cheer for each other.
We sat in about the same place as last year for the parade. It is perfect because it is toward the beginning, so all the floats are generous with their candy, Popsicles, and fliers.
Half of us sat on one side of the road and half on the other.
We came straight from the race.
Mustachioed Travis with Felix at the parade. We shoved so much candy into that kid trying to keep him in one place. He liked it pretty okay.

This is what much of our weekend looked like. Lazing in the shade of my parents lovely trees.
Jill and I decided we wanted to relive our childhood by taking a walk "downtown" to get Millhollow and maybe some Mom's Kandy Kitchen chocolates. We took all the kids and our SIL Laura. Travis had just gotten back from playing tennis with the other mens, but he decided to come. It was pretty hot and the kids were all pretty miserable by the time we got down there to find everything was closed.
(I love how Sammy and Henry are throwing up gang signs in this picture))
We did find a little place that was open that had $1 ice cream cones. It was just what the kids needed.
Nighttime fireworks with Shakespeares and Ricks's.
Could you fit anymore fun into one day?!

So sad we missed the fireworks.
I think I might have stolen some of your pictures that were downloaded onto my computer and put them on my blog. I forgot about the ice cream run though, I didn't bring my camera, so I'm glad you documented it.
