events, milestones, and interests

Zoe is growing up so fast. Sometimes I look at her and can't believe how big she is!
She has started going to Activity Days (like scouting, for girls) every other Wednesday. I think she enjoys that. There is one little girl in the neighborhood that she has connected with. They had a sleepover on Friday night and they had a really good time.
Zoe really enjoys school and is so good about coming home and getting started with her homework. She really enjoys math. She is a good helper with Felix and will help out a lot (if properly motivated). She has also started waking herself up, with her alarm clock and getting ready in the morning. That is a big help to me.

For those of you who remember Zoe wearing this shirt EVERY DAY, she still wears it, she just let Felix borrow it.
One of Liam's favorite past times is teasing his Mom and sisters. He is really good at it. He talks baby talk, makes noises, and does other boy things that we can't begin to understand. The reason I think it is for our benefit is that he doesn't do it around Travis. Also, I am sure we give him a great response.
I love that there are at least 5 other boys Liam's age in our subdivision and ward. Last Friday he was out playing with 3 neighbor boys until bedtime. It is so fun to watch them play. They play so nicely (that I have observed) and are interested in many of the same things.
Liam is really enjoying school and likes his teachers. He also likes the swings and monkey bars at school.
Liam is borrowing a Nintendo 64 from his uncle, because we don't have any other video game apparatus. He loves to play and especially likes Super Mario. In fact, I have noticed he refers to things by the characters color. "For instance, I want the Luigi (green) cup."

Lydia favorite thing to say is: "Mom will you play with me?" Felix can't play for a long time and the other kids are gone all day. It is hard for me to set aside the things I feel I need to get done, but when I can we like to read books, color, and play Polly Pockets. I could do an entire post about the elaborate, dramatic, and funny story lines she creates for the dolls.
Lydia's favorite person in the world is still her Daddy. Her whole day improves exponentially when Daddy comes home. They are a hoot together.
Lydia is at that fun age where she is always asking questions. I need to write some down.

Well, I have already posted Felix's biggest milestone: walking! He is also climbing up and down the stairs. He is getting more excited about table food. He ate a piece of pizza at a friends birthday party recently (with me feeding him little bits). He loves bread, bagels, and crackers. I also have given him string cheese and he loves to suck on it!
Felix had a really fussy weekend a little while ago and what did I find in his mouth the next week? 3 new teeth-which makes 7 total! 4 on top and 3 on the bottom!
Felix seems to be more oral than my other kids were. Everything goes in his mouth. It makes it hard to let him be outside.
Felix also weaned this week. I was really worried about it at first because he was not enthusiastic about taking a sippy cup. So, I gave him a bottle (his first) and he knocks it down! He loves to snuggle up and drink his bottle. When he gets bored, he can bite that nipple as much as he wants!

Great update on the kids. I'm so glad they are all doing great. Great leprechaun trap! Wow.
