Doesn't he look so sick? He is a good actor, I told him to look miserable. He actually was bouncing on that hospital bed the whole long 2 1/2 hours we were there. So, what brought us there? Liam swallowed a penny. It was very unintentional, the penny jumped in his mouth by the sound of things. I called around to see if I really needed to take him in (thanks Anne and Will). If any of you ever encounter something like this, the reason we took him in was because the penny could've been in his airpipe.
He was a good sport and very brave through the X-ray (which could've been really scary). The penny was already in his stomach in the X-ray.
I think he thought we were on a date. He was just loving all the one on one attention. We played hangman, and that dot game. He got to stay up really late, and he got a sticker.

And he will always remember his trip to the ER as being really fun and cool. I'm so glad he's got a big windpipe. We're rooting for his intestines now!

I'm so glad everything turned out ok! I've been thinking about you since you called. Wow--I'm amazed we've never been to the ER with any of our boys swallowing something scary. Oops...typing that doesn't count as the same as saying that out loud, does it?
haha, I once ate a nickel, I was lucky and threw it up later. it's funny what kids eat. I'm glad he is okay. I guess the thing I would be worried about is all the germs on the penny. but I shouldn't dwell on that. haha. anyway, what a fiasco.
