Snake in the Grass

Zoe and Liam have been playing "spies" lately. They have learned all about spies from the movie Spy Kids. This morning they went around gathering all of the supplies and secret spy tools from around the house. They packed these and some snacks in their backpacks. They got on their disguises and grabbed their clue notebooks. Once they were all prepared, they didn't really know what to do. They made a spy hideout and have spent a lot of time in there doing spy stuff.

Today Lydia got into my make up and drew on really dark eyebrows. The kids said she looked like a wolf. Later in the day Liam said, "Mom, you need to take off that wolf thing". I guess he could still see make up on her.

At dinner Zoe usually eats what we do and Liam and Lydia eat whatever on the table is least offensive. Zoe mentions, "Sometime the L's don't eat". We were having spaghetti Zoe asks, "Can I have some more sauce? One of my noodles is clean".

Travis was eating dinner after coming home late. Lydia was trying to get a bite. He said, "I would like to eat my own dinner without help tonight, Lydia". She walked out of the room, pouting, then stuck her head around the corner and said, "You're rude".

Oh, my word! Where does Lydia come up with this stuff? I love the spies and their little adventures: I can't wait for the day when my kids will actually collaborate. Well, I shouldn't complain...they did play "bubble makers" really well tonight in the bath. Who knew bodily gases could bring so much enjoyment?

Cute kids! I love to hear about the clever things they come up with. They always keep us in smiles right?

That is just so funny! All of it really, but Lydia saying "you're rude" is totally hilarious!!

I love the disguises. That photo just oozes personality (and so does everything Lydia says).

I love how Zoe calls her siblings the L's. I love when they start nicknaming each other. when Caleigh is being sweet she loves to call Griffin "Griffie" and I think he loves it too.

My goodness -- I think I'm scared of this Lydia! What a crackup. And the music is just smooth. It truly is sophisticated-spies music. I'll bet your kids LOVE to look at this blog! You are a great story-teller, Melissa.

I'm glad to hear that Zoe is eating what you guys eat. I am sure you remember a day when she was on a more restricted diet? (IE: she wouldn't eat anything. Sort of like someone I remember and green "yogret.") All phases come to an end, thank heavens.

I love my grandchildren! Mom S
