One of my favorite things in elementary school was when we would have Read-A-Thons. I'm not sure if they were just for a few hours or all day long in school.
The other day when the kids had a day off we decided to have our own Read-A-Thon. Which basically means that we get a bunch of snacks (popcorn, jelly beans, apple slices, trail mix) and then we pile up all of our blankets and read for a few hours.
I think we made it an hour and a half, which is way longer than I thought it would be with the little ones who aren't quite reading by themselves yet.
Ever since then they have been asking when we would do it again!
