For Felix's birthday we had a Just Dance Party. Here is his cake.
Laura brought the cousins over and Steve and Shawna came for the fun as well. They brought gifts for the birthday boys (Gabe has an April birthday, also). The helicopter launchers were a hit!Felix timidly hitting his disco ball pinata.
The whole gang watching Gabe hit.
The gathering.
Look at these cutest boys helping each other gather candy. So cute!
Felix was enthralled with this singing card sent by Mimi and Pa. In fact, much more than his "big wheel" bike that was his main gift. He has not yet been very excited about it. In fact, this birthday was difficult for me. I love to celebrate and get excited about birthdays and he just didn't care. He didn't get what was going on at all. I wanted him to be excited about his presents and we had to make him open them. Every once and awhile it hits me how different he is. While I would never change a thing about him, I do have to re frame some expectations that I didn't know were there.
I think he had a great day. We all did. We are massively entertained and in love with this little man. Happy # 3, Felix.

That cake was one of the best i have ever seen.
the cake is KILLING me, it's so hilarious and perfect! How did we not discuss that on the phone this week?
LOVE the cake. He is so darling.
Birthdays are one of the things that are hard for my redhead, too. People ask him how old he is, and he has no idea what they're even saying. It's interesting because for most kids it's this main piece of their very identity (I'm four-AND-A-HALF!) and it just doesn't even enter his radar. Definitely a re-frame-your-expectations moment.
You are such a great mom!
