Packed in like sardines

For Spring Break I decided to bravely attempt a trip to Utah with the four kids by myself. We had so much fun, and the kids did so well (even Felix) that I am so glad that we did it.
The cousins weren't off for Spring break, so there wasn't as much cousin time as they wanted but it worked out well. At one point we took all 8 kids to the store. Liam is hiding behind Lorenzo and Felix just ran off, but can you envision 8 kids there? This is how many kids my parents had. CRAZY!!
The two oldest whipped up some rice krispie treats for us, Sunday night. I could get use to that!
We attempted some puzzlin'. We had to put it away after Felix attempted to help. oooops
My kids were all able to practice there basketball skills. Zoe and Liam especially had a lot of fun with this.
The kids also had a lot of fun when we went on a nature walk and they found a rope swing going out over a pond. I didn't watch them do it. They had so much fun that they convinced Grandma Sam to take them back the next day.
This is such a sweet picture and something I will probably always remember. Zoe sat and chatted with her great-grandma for about an hour. It is sometimes difficult to understand her when she can't think of the words to use, but Zoe was so patient and kind. Even when the other kids were off playing another game she didn't seem in a hurry to leave. I know Nana appreciated it, too.
Sammy and Lydia are as thick as thieves. They would go into Sam's bedroom for hours, giggling and playing. Only sometimes would they allow Henry into the room if he would act as servant for them.

That's sweet about Zoe and Nana. I wish we could have been there with everyone, but we were having our own adventures. You're so brave to go all that way alone with four kids, and I'm glad to hear it went well.

You were brave! I always get a little nervous being the only adult with four children. Looks like you had a great time.
