There is a little man-made pond down the street from our house. There are a few darling little trees that cast the perfect amount of shade, that, even in the heat of the day make it a wonderful place to sit.
The other day I looked out to see Zoe and her little friend sitting by the pond. They were there for hours. Instantly I was reminded of my childhood, sitting outside in a tree, or treehouse reading or playing. Carefree. I was so happy that Zoe and friend had found Their Spot.
I took Felix down one day and he had so much fun throwing rocks into the pond. Usually I kept one hand on his shirt so that he wouldn't fall in. Not that he is likely to, just that I am paranoid with him.
