Every Christmas morning of my childhood was spent delivery goodies to our friends and neighbors. My parents had done it for so long that I think they had about 30 families on their list. Some people had been receiving muffins and coffee cake on Christmas morning for about 20 years. We wouldn't open presents or even catch a glimpse of the stockings until after all the muffins were delivered. It ended up being a game, seeing how late in the day it would be before we would even start "Christmas".
It was a tradition that my father's family started. Because of his father being in the air force and their much moving around, I understand that they started this tradition as a way of getting to know the neighbors (I guess I need to get my facts confirmed).
Travis and I have decided to carry on this tradition. We agreed to do stockings first, though. It is a nice balance, I think.
We enjoyed bringing muffins around Christmas morning!
