For Thanksgiving we headed up into the Utah mountains to enjoy the holiday with my sister, Jill and her family.
2-Hot tub! Every night we went out and stayed for hours. The first night the kids (inspired by Uncle Will) would jump out of the hot tub, do snow angels, run thigh high in snow, then jump back in. Crazy!! The view and the stars were amazing!
3-Also in the basement was the PING PONG Table, which I have to put on the top ten for Travis. He found much enjoyment from that table. We wish Ian and Todd would've been there to play.
5-Turkey Trot 5K Thanksgiving morning-Jill called me a month prior saying that there was a 5K organized each year and would we like to run? It was great motivation for me to start running again. So, although it was super cold we got up, got ready and headed out really early. Zoe and William also were going to race. When we got there the race had been cancelled due to the -10 degree weather and all the dangerous ice. We were glad we had tried, though.
7. Visits-We received a visit from our Fresno friends, The Cleveland's (here is where my picture taking is severely lacking). The kids had a lot of fun playing for hours out in the snow. Also, we received a visit from our friends The Searcys and Mikes brother, Adam and his friend Lauren. We haven't seen Adam in years, so that was fun. We also, got to visit the Searcy's at their cutest house a few days later.
8. Adult dinner-Bless Jill for arranging for babysitters one night and all of the adults got to go for dinner. Twelve of us.
10-My #10's are always the same-FAMILY, FAMILY, FAMILY. Some movies and people refer to the holidays as being horrible because you have to be around family. I love every minute of it. I love the interactions, the conversations, the laughs we share together. I LOVE watching my parents and siblings and their acts of love and kindness to their families and others. My family is so sharing and wonderful. One of my favorite phrases that I must have heard one hundred times was: "What can I do to help?" I am so blessed. Also, we missed the families that weren't with us.
And more blessings came on the way home. There were storms and the roads were horrible. Coming down into the valley there were two times that I thought we were going to go off the road. I mean, life flash before my eyes kind of thing. It was so scary. I am so grateful that Travis was able to get us down. I am grateful for the prayers that were said (and answered) in our behalf. After we got down into the valley we stopped and stayed at a hotel for the night. We had a lot of fun swimming and hanging out. The next day was not as scary, but we still had to wait for the roads to open. There was a redhead in our car that was not a very happy traveller. But we were so happy to be safe!
