summertime

We had a great first week of summer. I had everything planned out and it actually turned out just like I planned. Of course I know this can't last. The kids were excited about their new chore chart, so they got up and did chores before anything else. We had a fun swim day, movie day, play date day, school day and library day.

I signed up the two oldest for summer fun classes through the school. I thought it would be fun for them since we don't do anything extracurricular during the school year. Liam is taking a sports class where they will learn the basics of several different sports. He is really excited about it and Travis had fun taking him shopping for a baseball hat and a sporty outfit.

Zoe is taking a ballet class. She hasn't taken since she took lessons in Boise when she was 4. She is excited, too. Each class is twice a week for six weeks.

I realized after taking Liam yesterday and Zoe today that I am in for a busy summer. I thought I would be giving them a treat and getting a break from each other, but I think I just made more work for myself. I got that blasted car seat in and out of the car a million times. Also, Lydia isn't too happy about being dragged around when it is as hot outside as it is.

We have only been to each class once and I am already feeling overwhelmed. We'll see how it goes.
