The weirdest thing happened last night. Lydia woke up crying pretty hard. Zoe is always quite helpful when Lydia is upset at night, she starts screaming, "Mom, Mom!" So I get up, assuming Lydia has fallen out of bed (by the sound of her cry). I get in the room and can hear Lydia crying but she isn't in her bed or on the floor. We have a plastic drawer system by her bed. The top drawer was taken out the day before and somehow she was half through the frame. Her head out one end and the legs sticking out the other. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, but I can't figure out how the heck she got in there.

Liam is recently obsessed with Indiana Jones. I am not sure why since he hasn't ever seen it. The other day he came in with his Woody hat on, a bag around his neck, and Zoe's belt as a whip. He has been going around like that for several days. Finally I let him watch the first couple minutes of Raiders of the Lost Ark (with Mom's hands placed strategically close to his eyes for any quick editing). I found him later with a Ziploc bag and the remote control acting out the "switching the idol for the bag of sand" scene. You know what I am talking about. Classic.

My sweet Zoe. Things have been going much better since I learned to let her do her own hair, put on her own shoes and pick out her own outfits. I am available only if she asks me nicely. The other morning she was getting dressed and I innocently suggested something. Generally, if I suggest something I am met with utter disdain. Instead, she said, "That is such a great idea". I couldn't believe it. I was so happy, I started doing a dance. She promptly decided she wasn't wearing the outfit I suggested. What independence!
She lost her sixth tooth the other day. She asked me to pull it for her! What a change from tooth number one!
She was struggling a bit with reading. Instead of getting frustrated she made a goal she wanted to read extra every night. I really see an improvement, and she never forgets. I am proud of her for working so hard.

You know, we love Indian Jones, too!! I love these updates and am completely perplexed as to how Lydia ended up in a drawer while she was sleeping?!?! You're a brave mom to pull that tooth. That makes me gag a bit!
YOu are such a good mom -- G is also at a good place right now and I know she would enjoy Zoe's company so much. You should think about moving to Texas (sorry, I just can't help myself).
Ahh, the clothes struggle. I can't tell you how many shirts have gone unworn, because Caleigh just didn't like them. My system, I take her school shopping with me every year and let her pick out her own clothes. Then we sit and put all the outfits together trying to find every possible way to make them all work. But, Caleigh surprises me and usually the stuff she picks out, and I don't really like, everyone loves. Go figure!
