It has rained most of the weekend, which is great. After last weeks temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, we have enjoyed the cool weather. Also, it got us out of doing a lot of yard work.
The kids are at an age where they can get up and entertain themselves and each other until we get up. I don't remember the last time Travis and I got to lay in bed and talk until we decided to get up. That is a real holiday!
We had a pretty slow day until 4:00 when we headed to the park. The rain had stopped and the weather was perfect for a park day. We brought a picnic and met some friends at the park. We were there for over two hours and had so much fun. We talked and ate and played kick ball and it was beautiful outside (and no one brought a camera).
This flower is called a Passionflower and grows in our backyard.

Date night? Lying around in bed on a holiday morning? Sounds like you had the perfect weekend.
Nice weekend! I am so glad the kids are at an age where you can enjoy them more. Beautiful flower!
Isn't it nice to reach a point where your kids go off and play and you can sit and enjoy conversation with other adults!? What good times!
I remember waking up and watching cartoons with richard or more likely watching richard play nintendo. I'm glad to hear that parents appreciate that. that is the most beautiful flower! I have never seen one! And even more beautiful (and handsome) are your children. I can't believe how much they have grown since you lived in boise. miss you here but it's so good to see you're doing well. love you
Oh, Melissa! What a flower!
I didn't mean to ignore the rest of your entry. It sounds like a great weekend. We have met up with friends at the park on our sunny days, too. Wish we could find a park convenient to both of us. I'm up for some kick ball!
Thanks for your kind words. You have a great family. You have always amazed me with your whit and intelligence.
thanks for visiting my blog. i owe it all to you!
Melissa,
I am so glad that you found my blog. It took me awhile to get to yours but I made it. I too often think back to our cold/flu inducing days. Darn rain never did the trick for us. Not from lack of trying. Your family is so cute keep in touch
